For the last two months, JetAirways was reducing the number international flights.
Even in domestic routes, they were reducing the seats for the monsoon season.
But as a deviation, they are adding a second flight in IXM-BLR/HYD route for winter season.
so they must have done enough ground work about the potential.

But i anticipate some more confusions in the coming days.
Just two days back it was announced that Patna airport runway length will be reduced and bigger
aircrafts ( A320/ B737) cannot land. only ATR and DH8 can land in that airport.
http://www.newstrackindia.com/newsdetai ... g-16-.html

Indigo+GoAir together was operating 5 flights between delhi and patna (oneway).
They have now stopped booking from 16th august.
Spicejet has 1 or 2 no's of extra DH8 aircrafts. He might plan to deploy them immly to cash in the
big opportunity ( nearly 900+ seats in oneway). If that happens, then once again all proposed timings
in south sector might change. its just my guess. as usual, keep fingers crossed and lets wait for drama to unfold.

ensure that you have given a local ( indian) mobile number in your ticket booking and you are carrying that mobile.
if there is any rescheduling, they will inform you through SMS.

Also remember that, boarding pass holders are not allowed to come out of indian airports.
(unless you have some high influential person at airport).
So if they cancel the flight after you reach airport,
you must wait for 4 or 5 hours inside the airport for next flight.

Dear Folks,

I had just checked the Jet airways website on the flight status page and it gives no information on flight cancellation. Rather, it is gives a timining for all the flights and says, they are landing in the respective airports with the delay of five mintues.

http://www.jetairways.com/EN/IN/PlanYourTravel/FlightStatus.aspx?ddlSearchByFlightStatus=Route&rblDeparture=D&ddlFlightDate=09%20Aug%202012&txtFlightNumber=&ddlOrigin=IXM&ddlDestination=MAA&ddlAirportName=&ddlEarliestTime=00&ddlLatestTime=00

Could some one please clarify the ambiguity? Thanks.

for 9th august, four flights will be listed between IXM and MAA.
change the date to 8th august. you can notice that only 3 flights are listed.
The flight 9w2344 and 9W2343 will not be listed there.

If you go to flightstats.com, it was showing the status as Unknown for 9w2343 and 9w2344 for 8th august.
The other day, it was mentioned as "cancelled" for the morning flights.

Thanks "sssrs" :)

Either mobile # will not help if the cancellation is within 24 hrs of departure, I'll be in transit by then... Anyway thanks for the clarification!

Mustafa, it seems Jet is making some changes for August and September schedule. Will update the revised schedule in few days.

Jet used to operate to both the morning flights with the same aircraft and it is not the case anymore for remainder of summer schedule hence timing has been changed for second morning flight(MAA-11.15, IXM-13.00) and could be the reason which leads to cancellation. Looks like it will be back to old timings(MAA-10.40, IXM-12.25) in W13.
